What Is The Difference Between A Real Estate Negotiator And Real Estate Agent?
Real estate has many different professionals who specialize in different aspects of the industry. All real estate professionals need to be registered under the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers (BOVAEP).
What is a Real Estate Negotiator?
A Real Estate Negotiator (REN) is a person who has been hired by a company to list and market properties, all the while under the supervision of a registered Real Estate Agent (REA). This means that a negotiator cannot work independently and must be supervised by a real estate agency.
How To Become A Real Estate Negotiator?
Any Malaysian citizen or Permanent Resident aged 18 and above who wishes to become a negotiator must first register with a registered real estate company and then attend a 2-Day Negotiator Certification Course (NCC), a prerequisite to formal registration as a negotiator with BOVAEP. The real estate agency associated with them will apply for the REN Tag with the BOVAEP. After obtaining a REN TAG, the REN can represent sellers, landlords, buyers & tenants in selling and marketing properties.
How Do Property Agents Earn in Malaysia?
A property agent is a certified professional who facilitates real estate transactions by matching buyers and sellers and representing them in discussions. These property agents are normally paid entirely by commission, a percentage of the property’s selling price so their income is contingent on their ability to conclude a transaction.
