A Real Estate Negotiator (REN) is a person who has been hired by a company to list and market properties, all the while under the supervision of a registered Real Estate Agent (REA). This means that a negotiator cannot work independently and must be supervised by a real estate agency.


How To Become A Real Estate Negotiator?


Any Malaysian citizen or Permanent Resident aged 18 and above who wishes to become a negotiator must first register with a registered real estate company and then attend a 2-Day Negotiator Certification Course (NCC), a prerequisite to formal registration as a negotiator with BOVAEP. The real estate agency associated with them will apply for the REN Tag with the BOVAEP. After obtaining a REN TAG, the REN can represent sellers, landlords, buyers & tenants in selling and marketing properties.

A property agent is a certified professional who facilitates real estate transactions by matching buyers and sellers and representing them in discussions. These property agents are normally paid entirely by commission, a percentage of the property’s selling price so their income is contingent on their ability to conclude a transaction.
